We are looking for a UX Manager who is passionate about bringing a world leading simulation software for the development of biopharmaceutical production processes into the cloud to join our GoSilico team in Karlsruhe, Germany. As a UX Manager within GoSilico, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute broadly across the business by applying your UX research and design skills to enhance our product user experiences. You’ll apply your talents by creating and implementing research studies, developing research best practices and enabling the organization to deliver the best products. At the same time, you will be responsible for developing UX best practices and standards. You will be pushing the boundaries of current interaction models to create a better user experiences for our international customers.

What you’ll do

  • Develop innovative design solutions that solve complex enterprise workflows and scientific functions
  • Conduct UX research to uncover opportunities, help us iterate to improve and to gain knowledge of our customers’ needs
  • Understand and incorporate complex technical, clinical, and business requirements into research
  • Establish UX strategies that address business objectives, enable measurement through key performance indicators, and meet requirements of our target audiences
  • Create wireframes and high-fidelity mocks to convey standards for branding, navigation systems and user interface components
  • Communicate and test user experiences via mocks, interactive prototypes and working software, applying research methods to collect UX feedback and iterate
  • Drive change through effective communication of research findings to stakeholders
  • Enable product development team through user-centered thinking and by establishing UX design best practices

Who you are

  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience as a UX Designer, Interaction Designer, Information Architect, or similar role, preferably working on enterprise software products
  • Experience in independent UX independent research using a wide range of methods (such as usability lab studies, interviews, field studies, expert reviews, surveys, etc.) and appropriate analysis methods
  • Experience creating and applying UX guidelines, design systems, component libraries, responsive components
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and how UX works within that process
  • Strong online portfolio that demonstrates experience creating enterprise-class, commercial-grade design solutions
  • Deep understanding of front-end technologies and limitations across web applications, responsive design and mobile apps
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment
  • Good time management skills
  • With an extraordinary eye for aesthetics, color and typography, you easily translate the essence of a brand into visuals
  • Proficiency in Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma or similar and experience using prototyping and collaboration tools like InVision, Zeplin or similar
  • Ideally, life sciences industry experience and basic understanding of biopharmaceutical process development
